STREAM NEWS– A representative from UNYTS came to visit Grades 6-8 science classes for a two day session that covered organ donation and how to keep our bodies healthy by eating a balanced diet. Students were shown plush organs and discussed the function of each organ. Students wore an organ vest that showed approximately where each organ is located in the body. 8th Graders were able to examine sealed bone and tissue samples. The second day, there was a discussion about the parts of blood and their function, as well as how much blood is in our body at any stage of our life. There were also models of how blood may look under a microscope.
